1. Masterclass „Barock Cello“ in Guarda (Switzerland)
From August 3rd to 8th August, 2019 the 1st Masterclass "Baroque Cello" will take place in Guarda in the Engadin in Switzerland as part of the 2nd Music Festival Grisons Baroque. The head of this baroque cello Masterclass is Kristin von der Goltz.
Kristin von der Goltz
The cellist Kristin von der Goltz studied with Christoph Henkel in Freiburg and William Pleeth in London, where she was a member of New Philharmonia London under the then Chief Conductor Guiseppe Sinopoli. Since that time she has been intensively involved with the baroque cello and historical performance practice.
From 1991 to 2004 she was a member of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, with which she released numerous CDs and undertook worldwide concert tours. In 2006 she became a member of the Berlin Baroque Soloists, an ensemble of the Berliner Philharmoniker. From 2009 to 2011 she was principal cellist of the Münchner Kammerorchester. Kristin von der Goltz regularly serves as artistic director of the Norwegian orchestra "Barokkanerne Norwegian Barocke".
From 2002 to 2009 she was a lecturer for baroque cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. From 2004 to 2009, she taught gifted children and adolescents on a modern cello at the Kath College. Church music Regensburg. Equal occupation with the modern and the baroque cello has always been of great concern to her, both on the concert stage and in teaching.
Kristin von der Goltz is now a professor of baroque cello at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. The cellist published on the label Raumklang four excellently reviewed solo CDs with sonatas by Jakob Klein, caprices by D'all Abaco, sonatas by Antoine Dard and sonatas by Andrea Caporale and Johann Ernst Galliard.
